Pick clothing that is comfortable and that you can move around in. My photo shoots are filled with moving ~ walking, sitting on the ground and interacting with your family. I always suggest that you start with choosing outfits for your children. Pick something that they love to wear, and will not fight you on the morning of the photo shoot. Once you are comfortable with what your children are wearing, choose something for you. Again, choose something you feel gorgeous in, mix up the colors...perhaps you wear one of the colors of your daughter's dress for your top, and wear denim on the bottom. Your significant other can get away with wearing a more neutral color, and denim or khaki pants. Add accessories....scarves, hats, jewelry if it suits your style.
I LOVE color! Don't be afraid to go bold, bright, or choose stripes or plaids for one or two of your outfits. I do advise to stay away from screen print tee shirts or large logos. Here are 2 examples of how you can mix and match your family's wardrobe with one or two color direction. First example is a pretty dark coral color, which is seen in all 4 outfits. Second example, we added 2 main colors, turquoise and grey, and added denim and white to round it out.

Clothing is an important element for the feel of your photos. I personally like casual outfits for families but with coordinating colors, whether accenting the main color with a scarf, hat, or shirt, as you showed.
Thanks for posting!
